Ecovert Cx was incorporated October 2012. RFB commissioning – the precursor to EcovertCx – was a sole proprietorship since April 2010. Prior to 2010, EcovertCx founder, Reg F. Barsoum started and managed the commissioning divisions of well-known commissioning entities such as Enermodal Engineering and RS&G Commissioning (both now owned by WSP Group).

Reg has over 30 years of experience in project management, hospital facility management, M&E contracting, engineering consulting, and serving as a Commissioning Authority for several top providers. He has developed a comprehensive skill set in control systems, including pneumatics, control theory, BAS programming, applications engineering, energy auditing, and DDC. Reg has also worked extensively on HVAC design, troubleshooting, energy conservation, and evaluating manufacturing equipment.

Alex holds dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Ottawa in mechanical engineering, specializing in design and testing of mechanical components, CAD, aerodynamics, gas dynamics, welding, mechanical reliability, and vibration analysis. Since joining Ecovert Cx in 2015, he has gained extensive experience managing commissioning services for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Alex also leads the Energy Auditing group, conducting ASHRAE Levels 1, 2 & 3 audits and energy analysis. He is skilled in ASHRAE 62.1 calculations for verifying LEED fresh air ventilation requirements.

Ramy has developed great expertise in identifying and solving problems as well as providing suggestions to ensure present and future quality and functionality of the systems he works with. Ramy has also gained significant exposure to commissioning systems within healthcare institutions through recent projects such as the Stratford Hospital Co-Generation Plant project and various troubleshooting and commissioning assignments for the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Salman’s experience includes process control; power electronics, and designing power and control equipment such as switchgear, PLC control panels for Industrial process control, conducting load studies and transformer and wire sizing. Salman also has extensive knowledge in designing and commissioning field devices for commercial projects, including programming and integrating systems through communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, BACnet, and MSTP/IP
